GEOLOGICAL MODELLING
Geological Modelling is at the core of our business. Impala staff have built Geology and Resource models for approaching 100 deposits worldwide, in a wide range of commodity and mineralisation styles. The majority of our commissions fall into the following categories:
Combined Geology & Resource Models for use in compliant Mineral Resource estimates
this typically involves building a geological model
identifying the key controls on mineralisation (where required, Impala has collaborated successfully with a number of world class structural geologists to help identify these controls and build them into the modelling process)
building resource domains that reflect the in-situ mineralisation
statistically and visually validating these domains
providing recommendations for appropriate interpolation parameters and classification to the CP undertaking the Mineral Resource estimate.
Grade control models for short term mine planning
most frequently this involves designing a modelling workflow that can be updated by the client going forward, rather than a single model
Waste Models for Mine Planning
Geotechnical domaining based on RQD or alteration data
Acid generating or Deleterious element models for waste rock disposal or processing planning.
Impala are specialists in both explicit and implicit model techniques and work with the latest Leapfrog Geo® 3Dmodelling software.
