TRAINING & TECHNICAL ADVICE
Impala offer Leapfrog Geo® software training and technical advice to Exploration & Mining companies who are looking to:
- Develop their in house modelling and resource domaining skills
- Design a modelling workflow that can be easily updated
- Move to Leapfrog Geo® from another GMP or in house software package
- Understand and use implicit modelling to analyse large data sets
There is a significant amount of downstream value in making a geology or resource model as simple as possible to use and update, as well as ensuring that it can produce outputs for a range of users. In a mining environment this might mean modelling faults for geotechnical analysis, modelling smaller scale waste rock units that may have implications for processing or waste rock management, or modelling internal waste units for improved resource definition and short scale mine planning.
Training sessions are typically held at the clients Exploration/Mine site, for small groups between one and ten. Training software (Leapfrog Geo® ) is provided but people attending the course will be required to bring their own laptop. The training process works best when using the clients own data, allowing the staff to work through and solve real life data issues, rather than working with cleaned datasets. The course is not "off the shelf" and is designed to address the specific complexities and demands each project has. When the training is completed, staff will have a firm understanding of the software and it's capabilities as well as a solid plan to move forward with the modelling of their deposit.
Impala is currently providing training and technical advice to the following operations:
- Boliden's Tara Mine, Co. Meath Ireland
- Anglo American's Sakatti Exploration Project, Sodankyla Finland
